Everything you need to know about Schomburg Soloplan levelling compound
Schomburg Soloplan is a cement-based, self-levelling floor compound designed for rapid setting with very low emissions, making it a good option for occupied or sensitive interior spaces. It can be applied in layer thicknesses from 2mm up to 20mm, giving it enough range for both minor smoothing and more substantial levelling in a single pour.
It's suitable for use over underfloor heating systems, and its compressive strength of 25 N/mm² and tensile strength of 6 N/mm² give it the durability needed to support tiling and other floor finishes in both domestic and light commercial settings.
With a pot life of around 30 minutes, foot traffic is possible in approximately 3 hours, and flooring can typically be installed around 4 hours after application — a fast turnaround that helps keep tiling and flooring projects on schedule.
Compared to Larsen SLC100, which is best suited to standard concrete or screed floors needing a quick, shallow smoothing layer (up to 6mm) and isn't recommended over underfloor heating, Soloplan handles greater depths and heated floors with ease.
Against Larsen SLC1550 — which goes deeper still, up to 50mm in one application, and is built for more difficult substrates like timber — Soloplan sits in between the two: it's rated for a smaller maximum depth (20mm) than SLC1550, but offers faster setting, low emissions, and documented strength figures that make it a strong choice when those factors matter more than sheer depth capacity.
Supplied in 25kg bags, Schomburg Soloplan is a strong choice when you need a rapid-setting, low-emission levelling compound with the flexibility to handle both shallow and deeper layers in one application.
