Logistics Associate Apprentice

JMR House to Home Centre is looking for a Logistics Associate Apprentice to assist with the running of our warehouse in Mallow. We are a retailer of a wide variety of products sourced from Irish and European suppliers, ranging from tiles, flooring, and bathroom ware, to paint & decor and home interiors.

Your duties and training will include receiving and carrying out deliveries, preparing orders, communicating with customers and carriers as well as managing inventory. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate to develop a career in the warehouse, delivery and logistics field. You will gain a Third Level apprenticeship qualification, experience with on-the-job training, and the opportunity to earn while you learn. The successful candidate will be paid a full time wage for a 5 day week, attending paid off the job training on one of these work days each week at MTU Cork, in a mix of remote and in person training.

Location: Mallow, Co. Cork

Responsibilities:

  • Assisting customers in collecting orders and resolving issues and complaints.
  • Receive incoming deliveries and prepare outgoing orders.
  • Carrying out local deliveries.
  • Liaising with couriers to schedule order deliveries.
  • Helping to monitor and manage inventory levels through rolling stock taking.
  • Liaising with staff to coordinate outgoing deliveries.
  • Communicating with suppliers to order items.
  • Assisting in maintaining the warehouse in a clean and organised manner.
  • Performing additional duties as needed.

Requirements:

  • Ability to multi-task and work independently with minimal supervision as well as part of a team.
  • Full clean B license. 
  • Strong organisational and time management skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Availability to work Saturdays as part of a regular Tuesday to Saturday working week, which includes one day off site training in MTU Cork.
  • Strong attention to detail.

Applicant must meet one of the LAA programme entry criteria:

  • H7/O6 or above in five leaving certificate (or equivalent) subjects. A minimum of grade O6 must be obtained in English. A minimum of grade O6 or a B2 or above in Foundation level must be obtained in mathematics.
  • Holders of a QQI Level 5 or Level 6 (or equivalent) in cognate areas (e.g. business, logistics and distribution, supply chain management, etc
  • Applicants may also be eligible to become apprentices via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)
