ARDEX 4x4 Fast is a polymer-modified, S1-rated flexible tile adhesive manufactured by ARDEX, a specialist in tile fixing and flooring technology with products used across residential and commercial tiling projects. It's certified to EN 12004 and EN 12002, and is designed for tilers and contractors who need a dependable rapid-set adhesive without giving up the flexibility of an S1-rated product.
This adhesive is formulated for fixing ceramic tiles, porcelain, vitrified mosaics and moisture-insensitive natural stone across common substrates, including concrete, cement screeds, plaster, gypsum and masonry. Its S1 deformability rating allows it to absorb minor substrate movement, making it a good fit for floors with underfloor heating and other situations where a fully rigid bond isn't appropriate.
With an open time of around 30 minutes and a working time of roughly 70–90 minutes, ARDEX 4x4 Fast sets noticeably quicker than standard-set adhesives, allowing tiling work to be grouted within just a few hours rather than waiting a full day. This makes it especially useful for bathrooms, kitchens, and commercial fit-outs where minimising downtime matters.
