Everything you need to know about the Marshalltown Softgrip Grouter Margin Float

A margin float is the small version of a standard grout float. At 152 x 51mm it gets into inside corners, around sanitaryware, along worktop upstands and into narrow borders and window reveals, where a full-size float would catch the wall or skip the joint.

The face is pure gum rubber over a dense rubber pad, so it presses grout firmly into the joint and then lifts the excess off the tile face when you work it diagonally across the joints. The bevelled edges help pack grout into tight joints, and the tempered steel backing keeps the pad flat under pressure.

Most tilers carry a margin float alongside a full-size float: the large float covers open wall and floor areas quickly, and the margin float finishes the edges and awkward spots. Rinse it in clean water straight after use so grout doesn't set on the rubber.
